    What is ESG?

ESG stands for Environment, Social, and Governance. It is a framework businesses can use to report on these three dimensions, offering a more nuanced view of a company’s performance beyond the traditional financial bottom line.

Until recently, legislation regarding CSR and ESG reporting has allowed for considerable flexibility. However, the landscape is evolving rapidly. Larger companies are already required to comply with various and extensive EU standards for ESG data. The scope of this regulation will expand over the coming years and is expected to impact small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the longer term.

In a world that is constantly changing, the decision by SMEs to engage with the ESG agenda is no longer merely voluntary – it is becoming essential. It is an investment in their own long-term success and a trusted commitment to contributing positively to both society and the environment. SMEs should not wait for regulation; they should lead the way and help shape a sustainable future for themselves and future generations – while also reaping the many business benefits that come with it.
